THEY'RE ASKING ME TO HOST A COOKING EVENT?
Posted in: KSSJ, Life, Lynda info

Yes..people have compared me to this iconic comedian. Especially my husband. He walks into our house yelling, "Lucy, I'm home" –and I must say, it makes me laugh. I love Lucy! I'm flattered even though sometimes he will mean it in a being funny but mean way because he feels I have no business being in the kitchen....ever...unless I'm cleaning it. I guess I have a missing gene when it comes to cooking. My husband is the chef in our family. He rocks at it. He LOVES cooking and we make a great team because he cooks–I clean! Of course, I help slice or dice if needed but usually he wants me out of his kitchen. when he is out of town, my daughter and I go out. LOL!

Inevitably, something will go wrong in the kitchen when I'm in there and it has become comical to my family and friends. I do, however, get praise for my salads or small things that do not require using the stove or oven. Even something as simple as a grilled-cheese sandwich or bagels in the toaster-oven have alsmost burned the house down. I guess I get distracted. It's gotta be some kind of "'cooking ADD"...although I've had some success with Mac & Cheese and pancakes. But, one time I burned water...yes...water. I forgot to put the noodles in the pan of boiling water and we had to throw the pan away because it melted. The smell of 'metal' remained in the house for days. The Crock Pot has helped me a lot...because it is a slow cooker and all I have to do is serve but my husband is the one who prepares and starts it. I also have a missing gene to push the start button and one time we came home to an uncooked crock pot meal. We had to laugh! We all have out talents...cooking is NOT one of mine.

So, WHY ARE THEY ASKING ME TO HOST A COOKING SHOW?

COMIC RELIEF!!! NO DOUBT!!!

The ONLY reason I said yes is because it will benefit our local Easter Seals to help physically challenged people have a better quality of life. How could I say no? But, everyone I know are relieved I'm just hosting.

PLEASE JOIN ME FOR THE FUN!  They will cook...I will host...no worries.
