What's New in ACE-IT III

The High Hand Gallery is having the Artful Bra exhibition for breast cancer awareness this month.
Our tour of the High Hand Gallery was better than any other gallery we have ever toured with the exception of Crocker Art museum and the foundry.
Out of respect for the artists we asked if we could take pictures. We took our time walking through the serene settings in the gardens and took even more pictures. There were so many creative and inventive ideas for yard art.
We ate a delightful lunch and enjoyed the wild sparrows and the cool mist in the courtyard. I would recommend anyone visiting this very upscale gallery. What a memory for all of us…

SELF ADVOCACY AT ACE IT I
On May 8, 2012, Easter Seals ACE IT III traveled from Yuba City down to Sacramento to give ACE-IT I a power point presentation to help empower our People First of California Self Advocacy Group. Our consumers brought information on the Lanterman Act and how to advocate with our elected government officials. The Lanterman Act was passed into law in 1969 giving people with developmental disabilities and their families the right to receive services and the support they need.
ACE-IT III is just trucking along this month in preparation!!!
One group is currently engaged in a pinterest idea; melting crayons with a heat tool. The bright beautiful colors are fabulous!

John H. is working on his first self portrait as he is using a mirror to capture his own features and add a few of his own ideas. He is quite the artist. John will have several pieces to exhibit in competition this year at the Yuba Sutter fair. Others are painting their frames for their paper collages such as this beautiful one by Arlene!

We are going to be participating in “Lavender fields” at the beautiful Bayless Ranch on June 2nd. Two of our artists will be demonstrating while at the art show. It will be held from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The art below is also currently for sale in our fine arts studio!
- We will be offering scratch art sun catchers to the children at this year’s Very Special Arts festival held on May 18th at the Elks lodge in Marysville.
- July 3rd - The annual 4th of July BBQ/picnic
- July 19th - Easter Seals will be represented at the State Fair
It’s that time of year again! The Annual ACE-IT III Talent Show is coming up soon. This year’s performance will be held on Tuesday, July 17th. Save the date on your calendars, you won’t want to miss it!!
